To Bunny or Not to Bunny?
Easter is coming up and with it comes the liberal religious parental dilemma: to Easter Bunny or not to Easter Bunny? Our RE Director, Jan Devor says, "Easter Bunny all the way! Why should we let the Christian kids have all the fun?" But for a more articulate discussion of this issue, see the book Parenting Beyond Belief, edited by Dale McGown, specifically, "To Easter Bunny or Not to Easter Bunny" by Noell Hyman. (The article on Santa Claus is instructive too!) Jan has a copy of the book and is willing to share.

Social Justice Mentors Needed Mentors Needed for FUS Summer Social Justice Internship Program
The First Unitarian Summer Social Justice Internship Program promotes opportunities for learning about social justice for the young people in our congregation who have completed 9th -11th grades. The Program provides each intern with a mentor to discuss their work and issues of social justice which arise from the specific work they are doing.
Mentors must attend a two-hour training to learn more about social justice issues and meet the interns. After that, the mentors contact with youth is on an every-other-week basis (time and place to be arranged by the mentor and youth) during their internship.
For more information, contact Adele Hansen or Carol Koepp.

Celebrate Earth Day!
 April 22
Help FUS Support Green Power! For the past two-and-a-half years FUS has purchased WindSource power from Xcel. This premium renewable electricity has cost an additional $1,150 in the past 12 months. Your contribution in the envelopes in the pews on April 17 and 24 will help FUS continue its purchase and support of green power. Get Active with the Family!Earth Day is always bursting with volunteer activities centered on local environmental issues. But you can plant the idea of environmental stewardship in your children without participating in a service activity. This year's Earth Day theme, called A Billion Acts of Green®, emphasizes that making little changes in our daily life can be the most effective way to help the planet. See the Doing Good Together web site for resources.
