Ceremony for Grieving and Healing 12:15-12:30 on Sunday, November 21. At this service, participants will light a candle in honor of their lost loved one, read and hear words of comfort and hope, and be in silent company with others who have suffered a loss.

Give to the Max Day! 
This Tuesday, November 16 is the second annual Give to the Max day for Minnesota churches and nonprofits. Last year, FUS members and friends contributed nearly $19,000 during this one-day event. This can be an excellent opportunity to pay on a pledge, increase a pledge, or make a special donation to an FUS program. Donations are made through www.giveMN.org, a secure website. When you enter First Unitarian in the search box you'll be offered a chance to donate to the FUS Foundation. Any donation can either go to the Foundation or to the Society. Pledge payments will be separated from Foundation gifts by the FUS office. If you have questions about the November 16 event, please contact FUS Administrator Will Hegeman at 612-377-6608, or through email by clicking here.

Restoring Hope Gala Saturday, November 13, 5:30-8:30 p.m. at FUS. Cosponsored by FUS Social Action Committee. Dinner and Silent Auction to benefit At Home Group: Partnerships for Independence, which provides the clothes and tools that skilled homeless adults need to go back to work. Clients will present individual success stories. They want you to know, they are homeless, not helpless! $50.00 a ticket.

All children K-7th grades attending the Religious Explorers Program on Sunday, November 28 will hear about Advent from a UU perspective, and make a advent wreath to take home to celebrate the season. Offer a Temptation?
Plan your contribution now to the Alliance's annual Holiday Gift and Temptations Sale on Sunday, December 12. Jan Sigmund is again collecting the food contributions and Gretchen Clemence the gifts to sell. Items can be brought to the lower assembly room at 9:30 that morning. The Alliance uses the proceeds for FUS projects throughout the year.

World AIDS Day Vigil 
Music and Photographs Commemorate HIV/AIDS at 30 Tuesday, November 30, United Theological Seminary
On this vigil before World AIDS Day 2010, view "30 Years / 30 Lives: Documenting a Pandemic," a photography exhibit by theologian and photographer Kimberly Vrudny. The program features contemporary American music written by composers impacted by the HIV/AIDS pandemic. No charge, more information is available here.
