FORUM at 9:30 a.m.
"The Future of the Forum"

Bruce Nelson, Facilitator

This program year many Sunday morning Forum programs will take place in the Heritage room. One advantage to this room is that it offers a more intimate setting for a smaller Forum audience. Is this a good idea? Should additional programming be offered concurrently with Forum programs? What should be happening during the FUS Sunday 9:30 time slot? We want to hear your views!

ASSEMBLY at 10:30 a.m.
"Sundays, I Take the Bus"
Speaker: Erin Dajka, Ministerial Intern

Journeys take many forms: vacations, pilgrimages, the daily commute, and even life itself. Depending on where we are headed, we may travel alone or with others. What does it truly mean to journey together? With whom do we choose to journey? How might we envision an expanded group of companions for the journey?

Be a 30-minute Volunteer!
Help assemble toiletry kits for the Dignity Center after service this Sunday.

Dignity Center Storieschalice social justice
FUS member Tracy May has been volunteering for the Dignity Center and is now writing for and editing a blog, "Dignity Center Stories."  According to May, the Dignity Center is "community collaboration at its best" and she notes FUS's part in that collaboration, including the assembling of toiletry kits, which you can help to do this coming Sunday!

Join Tracy and other FUS members and friends in living out our FUS and UU value of engaging in social action in support of economic justice for all.

GLBTQ Advocacy  chalice rainbow flame
"Schools Struggle with Gay Policies" was the headline of the Star Tribune front-page October 2 article in which FUS member Phil Duran was quoted in his role with OutFront Minnesota.

Phil was interviewed about the "neutral" policy about issues regarding sexual orientation of the Anoka-Hennepin school district on Minnesota Public Radio too. Phil's important work is an excellent example of FUS's and the UUA's stance on advocating for GLBT human rights: Standing on the Side of Love.

Check out this blog post from the UUA Standing on the Side of Love blog for a visual image about remembering teens who have committed suicide after being harrassed and bullied.
