ASSEMBLY at 10:30 a.m.
"It's All Up to What You Value"
Speakers: Lisa and George Greene
When we think of Gandhi, we think of someone who lived his values. But we don't have to look beyond FUS to find people who have integrated their values into their daily lives. Getting in touch with your values can be a catalyst for change not only in your community but in your own life. We will explore how acting on your values can be a transformative experience.

UU Retreat Center in Minnesota
Open House
Saturday, September 18 and Sunday, September 19 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. ALL AGES WELCOME!
You're invited to come and see the proposed 34-acre site of the Fields Retreat and Learning Center, only one hour south of the twin cities, in the Cannon River Valley.
Bring a picnic, a Frisbee, a friend. We'll have lemonade and cookies, live music, and some yard games. See the main house, the barn that will be renovated into youth and group retreat space, the greenhouses where we will start our organic food and justice ministry, and the lawn reserved for the labyrinth. Come and dream with us about how having our own retreat center might deepen our lives, our congregations, and our service in the world!
For Mapquest directions use this address: 15251 Old Children's Home Road, Welch, MN. |

Do You Have a Wonderful Workshop Idea to Share With Our District? Prairie Star District is seeking workshop applications for the PSD Annual Conference 2011, "It Matters What We Believe," to be held April 8-10 in Des Moines, Iowa. Our conference theme comes from a favorite reading in our hymnal, (#657) by a beloved UU religious educator, Sophia Lyon Fahs. It begins, "Some beliefs are like walled gardens. They encourage exclusiveness and the feeling of being especially privileged. Other beliefs are expansive and lead the way into wider and deeper sympathies." Workshops are sought that respond directly to this theme, or will foster leadership development and grow our UU community through multigenerational conversation. Click here for information about the Conference and copies of the application. Deadline to apply is September 27, 2010. |
