Statewide Benefit Cooperative Health Plans Cover H1N1 Vaccination
Due to the potential severity of the H1N1 virus, the Statewide Benefit Cooperative (SBC) health plans will cover the cost of the vaccination. This is meant to encourage your employees and plan participants to get this important vaccination.
All H1N1 vaccinations will be covered, including those received prior to this notice. This coverage will last at least through November 1, 2010. The Trustees will determine at that time whether to extend the coverage for an additional year.
Please Note
- If the vaccination is performed at a doctor's office, the plan participant will be responsible for paying the appropriate office visit copay or deductible (under a high deductible health plan).
- The vaccine is provided by the government at no charge. The SBC will cover the cost of administering the vaccine.
- This additional coverage is for the H1N1 vaccination only and standard coverage will apply to seasonal flu or pneumonia vaccinations.
