Privacy is a Priority
 
The IBA Group Insurance Trust and the Principal Financial Group take the matter of your employees' privacy very seriously and we make every reasonable effort to protect it. 
 
It is now time to distribute Principal's Privacy Notice to your employees.  This notice is required by law and describes how The Principal handles personal information.

DISTRIBUTE the notice to all employees covered by a product provided by the Principal Financial Group (see list below).   

MAINTAIN copies of this notice and provide a copy to any employee that applies for a product provided by The Principal.

Please Note:
This is a separate notice from the "Notice of Privacy Practices" required by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).  While they are very similar, this notice discusses how all personal information is collected and shared. 
 
The HIPAA notice focuses on how Protected Health Information is used and disclosed, and describes an individual's rights under HIPAA. 
 
The HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices is included in the SPD and a reminder notice is distributed every three years.
