Electronic Explanation of Benefits
We are making an effort to go green with Electronic Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and we would like to encourage you to participate. Not only is it great for the environment; paperless EOBs are more secure and cannot be lost or stolen in the mail or from garbage cans and recycling bins. Did you know that one tree is saved each year for about every 380 employees that switch to electronic EOBs, and that over 80% of US households have internet access? Employees can access up to 2 years of EOB information on the Principal website; and electronic information is available much sooner than the paper version. There is a wealth of other information on this website regarding health and wellness and a change to electronic EOBs would encourage your employees to visit the site. |

Please Sign & Return Consent Form
We would like to send e-mail notification of EOBs to your employees' e-mail address at your place of business. This notice lets the employee know that a claim has been processed and is available to view on the secure Principal Website. The actual EOBs are never e-mailed. In order to implement this process, we need you to sign and return the attached Electronic EOB Consent Form. We will also need you to send us a list of your employees' e-mail addresses or you may enter these e-mail addresses in Business Solver. If you do not want the notifications sent to your business e-mail address, please encourage your employees to participate in this initiative on their own by changing their EOB delivery to electronic delivery. Attached is a communication piece that you can give to your employees with instructions on how to do this. |
