As of June 1, 2009, CVS Caremark will no longer maintain social security numbers in their records for other than meeting needs to report information to the federal government.
 
Therefore, it is very important that your employees use their Privacy ID in all interactions and communication with CVS Caremark in the future.

Please ask them to use their ID card the next time they request a prescription from a pharmacy to ensure that they have their Privacy ID number on file. 

 

Using the incorrect number could result in their prescription being rejected.
