New CVS Caremark Auto-Renew & Refill Prescription Service

Please distribute information on this new service to your plan members

CVS Caremark has just announced a new mail order service for members that take common maintenance medications for a chronic condition or long-term therapy.  It allows them to receive these medications automatically at the appropriate time.

This service helps save time and money by eliminating doctor visits for routine prescription renewals.

Members can choose how they want to get updates on their prescriptions, including automated phone calls, e-mails or text messages.

This service is free to members of the Statewide Benefit Cooperative.
How It Works

When a member enrolls in the Automatic Renewal & Refill Service, CVS Caremark will:
  • Automatically send mail service maintenance medications at the appropriate time.
  • Request a new prescription from the doctor when a prescription is about to expire or when the last refill has been refilled.
  • Provide updates on a prescription's status using the method chosen by the member.
How To Enroll

Plan Participants Can Enroll Over the Phone
  • Call the Customer Care toll free number on your ID card
  • At the prompt, ask for a representative
  • The representative will talk you through the process and the drugs that are eligible.
