dANCEpROjECt October 27-29, 8pm Knickerbocker Theatre
This year's program consists of six works featuring a full cast of 19 dancers and the inaugural collaborative project "Art and Scholarship."
dANCEpROjECt's mission is to entertain, educate and challenge audiences of all ages with a diverse contemporary movement experience. Known for creating visual spectacles and kinetic landscapes as well as works with literal and abstract narratives, the company is dedicated to developing young serious dance/movement artists; providing opportunities for emerging choreographers and guest artists to create and present works; and presenting stimulating repertory for local community artists and touring to other locations for artistic dialogue and feedback with new viewers.

Evergreen Chorale Saturday, October 29, 7:30pm St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church
The much lauded 110-member Evergreen Chorale will perform a special fall concert to include music of the masters, Stephen Foster songs, a celebration of spirituals and more.
Upon entering the church, the chorale will sing an African "Zulu" processional, followed by two double chorus pieces from the aisles, "Jesus Our Lord, We Adore Thee" by Will James and "Antiphonal Gloria" by Antonio Vivaldi. This concert will also include music by Olaf C. Christiansen and Anton Bruckner, followed by an exciting new piece "When Winds are Raging", written by Tony Bakker, grandson of choir alto Mary Ann Bakker. Additional selections will consist of music from Stephen Foster, the Medical Mission Sisters and spirituals.

Christopher Williams Concert Sunday, October 30, 6:30pm Harderwyk Ministries
All proceeds of this concert will go to Hope Rising and Mika's Lunch in the Dominican Republic:
Hope Rising aims to partner every child in Jerico Christian School with a sponsor to provide them with a Christ-centered education that will give them a new chance at life. Mika's Lunch aims to provide these same children with one stable meal a day as part of a lunch program at their school. |

Film: "East of Eden" Tuesday, November 1, 7pm Red Barn Theatre

'East of Eden,' is director Elia Kazan's 1955 adaptation of the John Steinbeck novel and starring James Dean, Raymond Massey, Julie Harris, and Jo Van Fleet, who won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her portrayal of Kate, Dean's disgraced mother. This was the second-to-last picture completed by the 24-year-old Dean, who was killed in an auto accident in September of 1955 soon after filming on 'Giant' ended. For more information

David Liebman Concert Tuesday, November 1, 7:30pm Knickerbocker Theatre
Acclaimed jazz artist David Liebman, on saxophone, will perform with his quartet consisting of Vic Juris on guitar, Tony Marino on bass and Marko Marcinko on drums. Acclaimed jazz artist Liebman stretches the big band beyond the tradition of swing. The "New York Times" has said of him, "While others of his '60s generation have fallen off their ambition, Liebman has remained dogged about composition and trying difficult styles... he's a fighter." Visiting Writer's Series featuring Jaimy Gordon Thursday, November 3, 7pm Knickerbocker Theatre
Gordon's fourth novel, "Lord of Misrule," won the prestigious 2010 National Book Award for fiction. "Lord of Misrule" captures the dusty, dark, and beautiful world of small-time horse racing, where trainers, jockeys, grooms and grifters vie for what little luck is offered at a run-down West Virginia track. Gordon's short story, '"A Night's Work,'" which shares a number of characters with her novel, "Lord of Misrule," appeared in Best American Short Stories 1995.
Gordon currently teaches at Western Michigan University and in the Prague Summer Program for Writers.
