JACK DEAI ON NATIONAL PAPER FRONT PAGE!
Many of you have met our very gregarious PNG Manager, Jack Deia when visiting Port Moresby before and after Kokoda. Many would not be surprised to know that Jack is not shy to a bit of media coverage. Little did he know that he would have to battle the worst natural disaster (in human terms) to hit the front page of his cities newspaper.
That's right, Jack appeared on the front page of The National as the only PNG National to be effected by Black Saturday.
Last year Jack was left frustrated when he returned home from his tour of Australia, to find that all the stories of their adventures had already been told to everyone in Port Moresby. No one wanted to listen to his stories as they had been told many times before.
After Black Saturday, Jack finally had a story no one had heard before and to make the story even sweeter, he would appear on the front page of The National, as a hero that fought the beast in Australia.
Well done Jack! You've made it! |
OUTER EDGE RINJANI WINNER.
Last year, No Roads Expeditions ran a competition in Outer Edge magazine. The winner would win a trip for 2 to Indonesia to climb the mighty Gunung Rinjani. We are proud to announce the winner is :
Leanne Churchill from Newtown in Geelong.
Well done Leanne! Leanne is going to join the expedition that has Terrance David on it from PNG. It should be a great experience for everyone concerned.
P.S In April, Dot Robertson, one of our illustrious Guides, ventured to Rinjani with friends and her son. While they were not able to reach the summit, Dot said it is simply the best short adventure you can do. So much crammed into just 7 days. Thanks Dot, that's what we have been telling people for ages.

CAN'T MAKE ANZAC DAY? GOT IT COVERED!
For those that have longed to be on the Kokoda Track on ANZAC Day, we have something special for you.
No Roads Expeditions is becoming famous for memorial services along the Track outside of Isurava. Last year we celebrated ANZAC Day on Brigade Hill.
There, on that sacred part of the Track, 40 trekkers stood, hoisting an Australian Flag atop a make shift flag pole to the stirring sounds of a live bag pipe and the angelic voice of a young Australian.
Click on the link below to watch this amazing footage. We hope it inspires you to join us for ANZAC Day in 2010.
