LOS ANGELES (May 26, 2009) - Christopher Street West, producer of the LA PRIDE Celebration, is saddened by the California Supreme Court decision to uphold Proposition 8.
As part of a humanitarian movement, now 40 years in the making, Christopher Street West works year-round to support over 100 different local and national non-profit organizations sharing similar values. With the Los Angeles LGBT PRIDE Celebration taking place in just a few weeks, this volunteer-driven organization remains united with the community in continuing to seek full equality. In reflection of the court's ruling, all are encouraged to unite together and show their Pride for full legal equality. Christopher Street West plans to peacefully participate alongside thousands of community members, this evening, Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at the Decision Day Rally and March.
