JOIN US FOR THE GRAND OPENING OF ONE ARCHIVES GALLERY & MUSEUM IN WEST HOLLYWOOD!

Fellow Community Members,

The Board Members of Christopher Street West are proud to announce the grand opening celebration of the ONE Archives Gallery & Museum in West Hollywood, this Saturday October 11, 2008 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

For almost four decades, volunteer Board Members of Christopher Street West have upheld the goals of human rights by promoting a better understanding of the LGBT community within itself as well as its relation to the non-LGBT community.  It was a defining effort exemplified by brave and courageous individuals who first stepped into the streets of Los Angeles 38 years ago to march in reaction to the Stonewall Riots. Christopher Street West continues honoring this demonstration by producing the Annual LA PRIDE Festival and Parade in West Hollywood.  As it has now grown to become the largest gathering of the LGBT community in Southern California, we partner with almost 100 local and national non-profit organizations to promote like-minded Pride values that further enhance legal equality and social acceptance for all of our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters.

Just as Christopher Street West is dedicated to honoring those who have come before us in this great movement, so too does the ONE National Gay and Lesbian Archives.  As the oldest LGBT organization in the United States, they play an important part in sharing our Proud legacy by providing greater access to queer history, in an effort to preserve the past and secure the future of LGBT people.  Located at 626 N. Robertson Avenue in West Hollywood, the inaugural exhibit will feature the illustrious contributions of the Christopher Street West organization with a special focus on the continuing evolution of the Los Angeles PRIDE Parades.

Please join us in welcoming this exciting component of our culture to our local neighborhood by attending the festivities and hosted reception.  If you are not able to attend, make sure visit by the end of the year to experience this moving exhibit with rare materials and meaningful memorabilia of our shared history.  For more information about visiting, please see
