(Los Angeles, California, May 22, 2008) Christopher Street West and the Los Angeles Leather Coalition are hosting Erotic City on the grounds of this year's Los Angeles LGBT Pride festival in West Hollywood, California, June 6-8. Erotic City is a safe, sane, and supportive 18+ adult-oriented 'village' in which various communities gather to celebrate sexual freedom of expression.
"Erotic City is literally the 'beating heart' of LA Pride", said Steve Ganzell, organizer of the venue. "We are offering people opportunities to explore leather, fetish, kink and erotica. Personal fears are defeated by knowledge, which in turn creates a foundation for those interested in kink to make wiser personal choices in the future."
Growth in this venue is based on previous success and community support. This year's offering provides a larger space, more vendors, and expanded entertainment. "We will present erotic performance pieces instead of old-fashioned demonstrations", Ganzell continued. "In other words, rather than 'teach', we want people to leave wanting to be 'taught'."
Fetish Diva Midori, author of books on Japanese bondage techniques, will be presenting a seminar on the sensuous uses of rope. Adult video performers, affectionately known as Porn Stars, will also be available for questions or perhaps finding the next breakout talent among the crowd. There will be a recreated dungeon or playroom on site for those brave enough to seek supervised experiences in fulfilling their sexual curiosities.
A highlight of the weekend event will be the Mr. Christopher Street West Leather contest, Saturday, June 7, 2008. Competition is open to interested men of all ages. The winner of the contest will serve for the coming year as a representative at numerous leather events in Southern California, and participate in the 2009 Mr. Los Angeles Leather contest. The men of the Los Angeles Leather contest, the LA 11, will be on hand to talk about their roles as titleholders and how their camaraderie outweighs their competition.
Erotic City serves the entire LGBT community, regardless of sexual identity, and caters to all levels of interest and experience. This is an opportunity for attendees to discover leather community groups that have a long history, and were a part of the fight for today's LGBT freedoms. Erotic City is intended for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual and pansexual people to congregate, play, and share experiences, techniques, and wisdom about today's increasingly visible sexual underground.
