| Greetings!
In less than two weeks, it will be spring! Or at least that is what the calendar says; the wind seems to want to keep winter in force. We are more than ready for any signs of spring and are eagerly awaiting the new season. We are poring over catalogs and making plans of all the new items we wish to bring in to tempt you. We are slowly beginning to see an uptick in folks peeking out of winter hibernation. Our daffodils are several inches high and we are anxiously watching for the first buds. The birds know it's coming-have you heard their songs? For me, it's spring when the faces of friends from "away" start coming through the door. Maybe you? Looking forward to it!

Meet the New Faces at the Rainbow
| If you have visited us since Christmas, you may have seen one of the smiling ladies pictured here. I thought I would introduce you to them and share a bit of their backgrounds. The woman at left is Tammi Wilson, who has joined me as my friend, bookkeeper, and (soon to be) business partner. Tammi, who has been a Rainbow customer for many years, brings an extensive array of talents with her. Born and raised on Cape Cod, she has a background in counseling, is a Reiki Master, certified in Crystal Energy Healing, Tarot card readings and many forms of energy and divination work. With her presence at the shop on a daily basis, we have been able to launch our class schedule, and provide both healing serices and readings for people as they request appointments. Tammi has been the facilitator for our monthly Reiki Share clinics and Tarot Circles, and has numerous classes available with us. Beth Breen-Santheson (pictured at right) is a Certified Holistic Health Counselor, Energy Therapy Practitioner and an Angelic Medium. As an energy healer, Beth is certified in ASAT C.O.R.E.™ Counseling, Reiki, Integrated Energy Therapy® (IET), Crystal Energy Healing and as a Angel Messenger. She arrived at the Rainbow one morning and began doing weekly Angel classes the next week. We look forward to Wednesdays when she is available most of the day. Her classes on Healing Angels continue through April and then she will begin a series called "What Would Love Do?" Corina Lima, the third of our lovely co-workers, is probably more familiar to you as she has been filling in at the shop for almost a year now. She also is a Reiki Master, an ordained Interfaith minister and a Theta healer. Her interests are in Spiritual Counseling, and has extensive background in Children's Advocacy programs. Watch for her offerings with kids, coming soon! As the season unfolds, expect to see her smiling face behind the register more often. Her outgoing personality and interest in people make her a wonderful addition to our team. |
Springtime is birthday time
| Yes, if spring is coming, so is another Rainbow birthday. You might remember that I bought the store on March 21, 2002, a long nine years ago. So much has changed in the world since then and certainly in our "world" here. "Older and wiser" is a cliche, but like many statements., so very true. We have changed every year and this year will be our best year ever! Mark your calendars now for a giant birthday party celebration on Staurday March 27 from noon to 5. More details to follow next issue. |
| Crystal and Healing Energies | Today's horrific pictures of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami have made me think about ways that we can send healing energy to people far away. Of course we know the power of prayer, and I have offered many of them today. Did you also know that crystals have healing energies as well? Rose quartz, which is pictured here, is the stone of unconditional love and infinite peace. It works at the heart chakra level and holding it fills one's heart with joy and healing love. It opens the heart to feeling love for both oneself and others. When it is combined with the healing intention of prayer, it can send love both within to self as well as out through the world. May we use its energy to share with those who need it today. |

Don't forget that classes continue every month. This week we have an Angel class on Wednesday, Tea and Talk on Thursday, and on Sunday 3/20 our monthly Tarot Circle. On Sunday March 27 we have Table Tipping with Elaine O'Brien. For more details on these or the complete class schedule, click here. Until next time, think Spring. It is coming!

How Can I Help You?
| |
"If I could catch a rainbow,
I would do it just for you,
And share with you its beauty,On the days you're feeling blue. If I could, I'd build a mountain You could call your very own,A place to find serenity,A Place to be alone. If I could take your troubles, I would toss them in the sea; But all these things I'm finding , Are impossible for me. I cannot build a mountain,Or catch a rainbow fair, But let me be what I know best A friend that's always there."
These words are from a card line (aptly named Spirit Lifters) and they have been dancing in my head lately. What do you need from me? How can our "Rainbow" help you? These are difficult times and the worries are many. One way that we can help is to reach out to one another with kindness, a smile, a listening heart, a place where you can escape the madness, if only for a moment. We have always tried to be all of those things for you , our customers. Drop by whenever you can, including on Thursday evening for Tea and Talk (6:00-7:30 pm). There are things we can do to make life easier. Sharing ideas with one another is a great place to start. Just bring a smile (and a cup, unless you want paper)!
