White-throated Sparrow
Tons of sparrows, juncos, kinglets, and Cedar Waxwings
have moved in for the winter!  There are sure a lot of chips, whistles and buzzes in the yard right now!

This is the perfect time of year to add
White Millet
to the menu.  Many of our wintering birds are ground feeders and millet is their favorite!  It can be put directly on the ground or offered in a low platform feeder.

Princess Julia

This has already been a good year for wintering hummingbirds, like the
young female
Rufous Hummingbird
pictured above.  She was banded over the weekend at the home of one of our customers in Cartersville. At least one other Rufous and also a
Calliope Hummingbird have been banded this month!  This looks like it may be a terrific season for these special visitors!

Hi Birdwatchers!

Northern cardinal
This Veteran's Day has made us stop and consider how much we appreciate the service of our veterans, many of whom are our customers.  We are grateful to live in a country where we are free to pursue our dreams and passions. Being a small, local company ourselves, Bird Watcher Supply is committed to finding as many products that are Made in America as possible.

Looker Products, a family owned business in Illinois, and WoodLink, located in Iowa are both companies that make the majority of their  products here in the USA, including Woodlink's "Going Green" line - constructed from up to 90% recycled plastics, and all of their Bluebird, Wood Duck, Screech Owl and bat houses made from western red cedar.

Heartwood birdhouses and bat houses are not only made in the heart of Mississippi, but their company is also committed to the environment.  No trees are cut to make a Heartwood home, instead they are constructed with reclaimed cypress and mahogany.

Droll Yankees and Aspects are companies that make most of their feeders and accessories here in the USA and also honor lifetime warranties!  Perry's Hummingbird Feeders and the Dr. JB's Hummingbird Feeder are made here as well.

One of our favorite companies is Erva, our largest hardware vendor.  Over 95% of Erva's products are manufactured in their factory in Chicago, and you can't beat their high quality and customer service!

Don't forget Cole's Wild Bird Products!  This staple product line is made right here in Georgia, and so are the new wax pottery vessels from Habersham Candle Company!

This holiday season, make sure you consider buying products made right here at home.  We have many more great items made in the USA, so on your next visit let us show you some of the great American-made products we carry!
