Cedar waxwing
"I saw these really cool birds that look like Batman!  What are they?"
We get this question every year...and the answer is
Cedar Waxwings!

Waxwings are almost always found in flocks, sometimes numbering in the hundreds. These flocks are often seen feasting on berries but they will also visit birdbaths.  Cedar Waxwings are found in Georgia from late fall through mid-spring, when they fly north to breed.  Listen for their high-pitched bell-like whistles!

Ruby-throated Hummingbirds are also starting to return to the Atlanta area this week.  The first arrivals will be males, followed by females about a week later.  Make sure your feeders are up and ready for them!
