Division of Developmental Disabilities Focus Group
Wednesday, October 10th
6:30pm - 8:00pm
The Arc's Dan Godwin Community Center
2602 McLeod Road, Bellingham
Let us know how well the developmental disabilities system in Washington is supporting you and your family - AND - how it could be improved. Specifically, we'd like information from self-advocates and families on these topics:
* How easy or difficult it is for you to get information on services and supports available?
* How easy or difficult it is for you to get the services you need?
* How much control you have over your supports, and who provides them?
* How satisfied you are with the supports you receive?
Your input is very important!
The information you provide will be used as part of a statewide evaluation of the developmental disabilities service system. The State Auditor's Office, along with BERK and the Human Services Research Institute (HSRI), is conducting a performance audit of Washington's developmental disabilities program. The audit evaluates how effectively the Division of Developmental Disabilities provides services for people with developmental disabilities.
BERK and HSRI will be conducting focus groups in five citiesm including Bellingham, around the state. There will be two focus groups meeting at the same time: one for individuals with developmental disabilities and a separate one for families.
