"MAKING HOMES THAT WORK" WORKSHOP | |
Environment Matters: The Critical Role of the Physical Environment to Live a Safe and Participatory Life
Thursday, August 23
10 am - 2 pm Seattle DDD Training Room 1700 E Cherry Street, Seattle
You are invited to attend this cutting edge four hour, interactive discussion and workshop on making homes that work for individuals who present challenges for living in conventional housing. This workshop is designed to create housing and environmental solutions for real and immediate situations.
Using George Braddock's book, Making Homes That Work, workshop participants will identify person centered environmental solutions for specific individuals who need changes in their home in order to live safely and with increased independence. Participants are encouraged to come as a working group to problem solve and create housing solutions for specific individuals.
This presentation is for: people with disabilities and their families and advocates, providers of services, landlords, builders, architects, government employees, and anyone interested in developing personalized housing and accommodations for people with disabilities.
Snacks will be provided, but please bring a brown bag lunch.

Parent Coalition
|
The Parent Coalition of The Arc of Whatcom County provides information and education to individuals with developmental disabilities, their caregivers, families and the community by responding to requests for assistance. We provide 1:1 support and serve as a resource to increase understanding of the developmental disability service system and special education system.
