LET'S TALK... ABOUT THE BIRDS AND THE BEES
| A discussion for parents and caregivers on sexuality for individuals with developmental disabilities
Parents are the primary sexuality educators of their children. Additionally, caregivers play an important role since they often are assisting children and adults with developmental disabilities with bathing, toileting and dressing.
Tracy Dahlstedt, Community Educator with Mount Baker Planned Parenthood, will be on hand to share strategies and tools for parents. Topics will include communicating your family's values, what information to share and when, and tips for talking with young people as well as local resources and services. FAMILY GAME NIGHT

Down syndrome Outreach will be hosting a Family Game Night on Thursday, November 10th. This event is for children and youth with Down syndrome, along with their families and friends.

LEGISLATIVE COFFEE | | An important goal of the Parent Coalition is to provide the connections and resources for families to make their voices heard. The Annual Legislative Coffee provides a relaxed environment for people to meet their legislators face-to-face and communicate their experiences in a meaningful way.

Whether you are knowledgeable about the legislative process or completely new, this information will be important to make the most of the Legislative Coffee. Parent Coalition
|
The Parent Coalition of The Arc of Whatcom County provides information and education to individuals with developmental disabilities, their caregivers, families and the community by responding to requests for assistance. We provide 1:1 support and serve as a resource to increase understanding of the developmental disability service system and special education system.
