  • July is Adult Abuse Prevention Month

Help protect vulnerable adults by reporting abuse

The state Department of Social and Health Services is offering free abuse prevention kits that provide information on how to recognize abuse and what anyone can do to protect vulnerable adults from abuse, abandonment, neglect, financial exploitation or self neglect.

To get a kit, call 1-800-422-3263.

To report suspected mistreatment of a vulnerable adult, call the statewide hotline number at 1-866-363- 4276 (1-800-ENDHARM)

Health Care Reform: Your Voice is Needed

Health care is a very personal issue. Personal stories have the power to transform debates.

As a member of the Senate Health Education Labor and Pensions Committee, Senator Patty Murray is currently helping to craft a health care reform bill.

Senator Murray is asking you to share your health care experiences, your passion for change, and your suggestions for a better health care system for all.

    ADVOCATE

To find your senators' and representative's phone numbers, you may use a searchable online directory or call TOLL-FREE: 1-800-562-6000 & ask for your senators' and/or representative's phone number.

Remember that telephone calls are usually taken by a staff member, not the legislator. Ask to speak with the aide who handles the issue about which you wish to comment.
