  • Legislative Hotline Information

Legislative Hotline Can Now Answer Your Calls in Different Languages

Since the inception of the Legislative hotline , the hotline has been a wonderful resource, but only for those who speak English.

The Legislative Hotline now provides translation services for limited and non-English speakers wishing to contact their elected officials.

Non-English speakers can call the Legislative Hotline and be connected with a bilingual operator in any language.
The bilingual operator will serve as a liaison between the caller and the Hotline operator.

Help spread the word about this new service! This is a pilot program that is expected to end at the end of legislative session.
It's imperative that limited and non-English speakers use this service so that it continues.

    ADVOCATE

State Budget Deficit continues to grow

Most of Washington's governmental revenue comes from the sales taxes that we all pay.
As people feel they can afford to buy fewer things there is, of course, less sales tax revenue.

Our local legislators want to hear from families about how the proposed budget cuts will affect them.

A powerful tool is sharing your story, and let them know how cutting or reducing the supports and services to individuals with developmental disabilities will directly impact your family.

The Arc of Washington State, at the link below, is tracking the bills that are important to people with developmental disabilities and those who love and support them.

The site also has contact information for your legislators and the committees they sit on.
