    ~ Scholarships for Participants with Disabilities ~

    National Conference on
    Disability Inclusion and National Service:
    Acting Today to Shape the Future

    October 16-18, 2008
    Hilton Alexandria Mark Center

    The National Service Inclusion Project has available a number of (up to) $1000 scholarships for individuals with disabilities who wish to attend the National Conference on Disability Inclusion and National Service: Acting Today to Shape the Future.

    This conference is designed to bring together members from the national service network and the disability community to focus on issues related to actively engaging people with disabilities in national service and community volunteerism.

    If you are an individual with a disability or would like to recommend someone that would benefit from attending this conference, please forward name(s) along with contact information and a brief justification to NSIP@umb.edu by October 8, 2008.

    Scholarships are available on a first come first served basis and are reimbursable upon submission of required documentation.

    Autism Outreach Project

    New Training Schedule released

    The Autism Outreach Project provides education, training and resources for the families of children who have autism and for schools and other agencies that provide services to the families.

    They have trainings throughout the year on autism. Many of the trainings are located in Anacortes at the ESD 189 office and may be access via videoconference at other locations.

    They also have a lending library with many books, DVDs, videos and curriculum materials that cover information across the autism spectrum span. Requests for materials may be made by contacting them at 1-888-704-9633 or
    email to autism@nwesd.org.
