  • Stipends available for the Valued Lives Conference- September 24 - 26

    For individuals with developmental disabilities and a family member or care giver

    Deadline for submitting the stipend request is August 15, 2008.

    There are a few stipends set aside for Whatcom County residents to attend the Conference.

    Dr. Tony Attwood will present at a one day conference in Bellingham

    Dr. Attwood is an internationally known authority on high-functioning autism and Asperger's syndrome.
    His writings, lectures and workshops provide indepth information for families, professionals, people with Asperger's and their partners.

    Legislators in Washington, D.C. have adjourned for their August recess.
    They will return to the capital after Labor Day in early September.

    Meanwhile, Washington State residents will have their first election using the new
    Top 2 Primary.
    The primary is August 19 and ballots have already been sent out.
