    Segregation Law Suit Settled

Students will return to their public school in the fall

Bremerton School District decided last fall that students living at the Francis Haddon Morgan Center would be best served if they stayed on the institution campus for their education instead of joining their peers at the local public schools.

Disability Rights Washington filed a law suit on behalf of the students claiming that the segregated education violated state and federal education and anti-discrimination laws.

Bremerton School District decided to settle the case while it was pending in federal appeals court.

The students will be able to return to their classrooms in the fall.
