    Advocate to Change Insurance Laws

Autism Speaks, together with other advocacy groups, is working to change state insurance laws

This change would mean private health insurance would be required to cover the diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorders for individuals under the age of 21.

See the proposed bill as well as a contact information for your legislators on their advocacy page.

The documents can be used to help you communicate with your legislators.

    ADVOCATE

To find your senators' and representative's phone numbers, you may use a searchable online congressional directory or call the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at (202)224-3121 and ask for your senators' and/or representative's office.

Remember that telephone calls are usually taken by a staff member, not the member of Congress. Ask to speak with the aide who handles the issue about which you wish to comment.
