    Four statewide ombudsmen available to help parents.

    OEO is a new agency within the Governor's office and is a neutral third party that can assist parents in their interactions with school districts.

    Their mission is to promote equity in K- 12 education and the academic success of all students attending elementary and secondary public schools in Washington State.

    Business Readiness Workshop For Deaf Entrepreneurs

    Do you want to own a business?

    Do you already own a business
    and want to sharpen your skills?

    The Washington Assistive Technology Foundation and Enterprise for Equity are collaborating to offer a Business Readiness Workshop for Deaf Entrepreneurs.

    Participants will learn about:

    • What it takes to launch a new business
    • The elements of a successful business plan
    • Financing
    • Future plans for small business training programs for deaf entrepreneurs
    • The new deafbiz listserve (deafbiz@lists.watf.org)

    ASL Interpreters will be provided.
    Please give us at least two weeks notice of any other interpreting or accommodation needs.

    Reducing the Risk of Sexual Abuse of People with Developmental Disabilities

    Half-Day Workshop

    Presented by:
    Shirley Paceley, Clinical Psychologist
    Brenda Henson, Self Advocate

    Statistics show that people with developmental disabilities are at high risk for sexual abuse, yet many people don't know how to reduce that risk.

    Shirley and Brenda will present specific steps service providers can take to improve prevention and response to sexual abuse.

    Target Audience:
    Everyone who wants to reduce the incidence of sexual abuse and assault of people with developmental disabilities.
