Jacob Edwards Library Celebrates
Back to School! Greetings!
So much is happening at your library in August!
Summer Reading is no longer for students! An active group of patrons has registered for the program which is coming to an end on Thursday proving that reading is still a cool pastime and as popular as ever.
A diverse offering of programs are scheduled each month, and of special interest to folks this August will be the return of Loren Ghiglione (the former editor of the Southbridge Evening News) to town to present a talk on his latest book. Work is also continuing on data collection and statistical reporting for the Long Range Plan.
We hope you can join us for one of these great programs, or perhaps attend the Town Council meeting here at the library later in the month. The Trustees, Friends and staff are delighted to welcome the community to this unique and unprecedented event.

Don Hollenbeck, described by a CBS president as "one of the few great writers that broadcasting has produced," won most of broadcasst journalism's major awards for a pioneering radio program of press criticism, "CBS Views the Press" (1947-1950). Some of Hollenbeck's best criticism focused on the writing by reporters at the New York Times and other major New York City newspapers.
