Synopsis:
"For just about everybody, adolescence means having to confront a number of choices and life decisions, but rarely any as monumental as the one facing 15 year-old Alex (Ines Efron,) who was born an intersex child.  As Alex begins to explore her sexuality, her mother invites friends from Buenos Aires to come for a visit at their house on the gorgeous Uruguayan shore, along with their 16-year-old son Álvaro (Martin Piroyanski.) Alex is immediately attracted to the young man, which adds yet another level of complexity to her personal search for identity, and forces both families to face their worst fears."

Thursday, June 18th  - Film Screening, Razing Faith
Stained Glass
The Friends of the Jacob Edwards Library present Razing Faith, a documentary film by Brian Bolster and Mark Jahns about the Catholic church closing in Woburn, Mass.  The film will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Pioppi Room, lower level.
Synopsis:

"One casualty of more than sixty churches forced to close by the Archdiocese of Boston, the parishioners of Saint Joseph's were stunned when it was announced that their parish was slated to close in order to cut costs and cover the $85 million in settlements as a result of the clergy sex abuse lawsuits that rocked the area.

Just shy of celebrating the 100th anniversary of the parish, the pastor of Saint Joseph's, in a last-ditch effort, requested a two year stay of execution so parishioners could celebrate the milestone of a century in 2006.

With the luxury of having a two year reprieve and the anticipation of celebrating the 100th anniversary of the parish, parishioners have reason to feel optimistic.  As the anniversary approaches and the final closing date is announced, optimism fades when the self-serving interests of the church organist and pastor threaten the future direction of the parish and challenge parishioners' faith and sense of community."

Wasserman Scholarship, Brian received a fellowship to study media arts at the University of Arizona.
