Safety in a Slow Economy
With money tight, it's natural to think about cutting costs--don't cut corners on safety.
  1. To save money, gyms may be using junior coaches (coaches under 18); remember that an adult coach should also be present in close vicinity.
  2. Keep your gym insurance coverage current. Don't let the policy lapse.
  3. Keep your safety certifications current.
  4. Maintain your equipment. Repair what can be repaired and discard unsafe items.
  5. Check your fire extinguishers to make sure they are still working.
  6. Continue hygienic practices in cleaning bathrooms, mats, common areas, etc.
  7. Inspect fire alarms and their batteries.
  8. Post, practice and revise (if necessary) your emergency plans often. Post emergency phone numbers near the telephone.
  9. Continue to require background checks on personnel you hire. The prospective employee can pay for the BC.
  10. Keep your first aid, CPR, and other health certifications current.

Welcome to Power Bows

Welcome to Power Bows, the newest sponsor of the NCSSE. Power Bows was founded in 1998 by Tammy Klomps who had a daughter in youth cheerleading but did not like the hair accessories that were being used by the team. Instead of complaining, she did something about it. She created a line of bows that consisted of 10 different styles, put up a free website on Angel Fire, and watched the business grow! Power Bows is one of the largest Hair Bow Manufacturers in the spirit industry, offering over 100 different designs with hundreds of ribbon choices. Visit their website and find the perfect bow to highlight your squad!
