Journey Horse Oz this November, springtime in Australia.A MORNING OFFERINGby John O'Donohue I bless the night that nourished my heart
To set the ghosts of longing free
Into the flow and figure of dream
That went to harvest from the darkBread for the hunger no one sees.
All that is eternal in me Welcomes the wonder of this day, The field of brightness it creates Offering time for each thing To arise and illuminate.
I place on the altar of dawn: The quiet loyalty of breath, The tent of thought where I shelter And all beauty drawn to the eye.
May my mind come alive today To the invisible geography That invites me to new frontiers, To break the dead shell of yesterdays, To risk being disturbed and changed.
May I have the courage today To live the life that I would love, To postpone my dream no longer, But do at last what I came here for And waste my heart on fear no more.

Way Out Back Home from Oz / Plans for the New Year |
Several Journey Horse Banyandah participants depart for their individual vision quests
|
Greetings! Australia events in December 2011 differed dramatically from the previous year's adventures, but were no less delightful, deep and rewarding. Participants, human and equine, continued their elegant and profound work in Journey Horse. I still bask in their brilliance, my heart warmed and my life enriched. Indeed the entire past year has been characterized by wonderful friendships that testify to the profound impact of working with horses as partners in our life journeys. Plans are in place for more Journey Horse Oz in 2012, starting with Equitana in early November with three- and five-day clinics in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. Details in coming weeks. See below for events already scheduled in Ashland and Ireland that have me looking forward to this Big Year with high anticipation, where you are invited to join us for more Journey work with horses. Here is a tale of my baby elder adventure in Oz. Months before this year's trip, I began a search for indigenous elders on both sides of the pond, to enrich our studies in exploring inner and outer landscapes. Emails and phone calls went unanswered for weeks in both the US and Oz. READ MORE. Liberty Training Clinic with ROBIN GATESCertified Trainer in the Carolyn Resnick Method
May 18, 7-9pm, May 19 -20, 9am-4pm
Ashland, Oregon
For the past 5 years I have enjoyed a truly enthusiastic relationship with my horses, for work and play, thanks to Carolyn Resnick's Waterhole Rituals. I hope you will join us for this rare opportunity for a clinic here in my home town with Robin Gates, a long-time Certified Trainer of the "Carolyn Resnick Method". In this 2-day (and one evening) workshop, working at liberty in a free environment, unrestrained, with the absence of tack, Robin teaches how a bond is created through companionship interactions that are naturally enjoyable to the horse. Her teaching is extraordinary. Read flier for more: click here.

Journey Horse Ireland
Reclaiming the Dream
September 16-28, 2012 Early Bird special before March 1.
Please join me for the ride of a lifetime through the most beautiful rolling green in the world in the west of Ireland, a twelve-day seminar based at An Sibin Riding Centre. We begin with five days of Journey Horse: in-depth partnering with a horse through liberty work, enhancing explorations into the Celtic myth and magic that resides in that land, inspired by words of poet John O'Donohue & others, with visits to O'Donohue's homeland (some of the horses at An Sibin come from O'Donohue's farm) and nearby sites such as a castle and Holy Island via boat, followed by a six-day ride cross-country on the same horse you have known the previous week, staying at B&Bs along the way. We will ride for about 140 miles from County Galway westwards through the rural areas of County Clare into the unique Burren region and on to the rough Atlantic coast overlooking the spectacular Cliffs of Moher. Register by March 1 to save $300. Maximum 10 participants, intermediate riding ability. Click here for the flier with more details.
