Outside of a Horse

Will Rogers famously said that the outside of a horse was the best thing for the inside of a person.

Robert McDowell, prize winning poet and author of the best selling book Poetry as Spiritual Practice, and I heartily endorse this sentiment, so rich in native American wisdom, and on July 20th, 2011, we invite you to join us for a one-day equine/writing workshop that will explore the depths of this saying.

Through poetry, story, meditation, and hands-on groundwork with horses, participants will deeply connect with their own inner processes. Bring your notebook or journal and be prepared to write. Bring your boots, a hat and sunscreen and spiritually connect and commune with horses. In the process, you'll deepen your own practice, whatever that may be.

No level of expertise is required. If you're a beginning writer or new to horses, you'll feel warmly welcomed. Please come!

Participants should bring a sack lunch for the break between the morning and afternoon sessions. Water, apples, and carrots will be provided.

three in August, please join us on Wednesdays for morning-fresh writing with the inspiration of horses.

Mystic, Journey and Beau play with us, teach us, and learn with us. Together with them we explore untapped frontiers within, finding new energy and insight for the challenges that lie before us in these remarkable times.

July series is Wednesday mornings 9-11am on July 6, 13, and 27. August series is Wednesday mornings, 9-11am on August 3, 10, and 24. at the Ashland Equestrian Center.
