Greetings!

MIRACLES & WONDERS in the LAND OF OZ

Australia is a land where a couple of centuries ago a dramatic blending of cultures began to take place when a ship full of convicted criminals, many not so seriously criminal at all, arrived on the shores of a beautiful new land inhabited by Aborigines who had a genius for living with and in their land. Two more vastly different peoples could hardly have been found anywhere. The Aborigines with their wandering ways that tuned their rich dreamtime lives to the very rocks and hills around them encountered the British whose searching ways sought to find the Holy Grail, always on a quest of some sort to conquer the radical Other. A people of the inner life met a people of the outer life. The resulting history has given us a remarkable land of rich contrasts, where horses roam as brumbies and the dreamtime is still alive.

This time in two weeks, I will be arriving on tJourney Horsehose shores myself, seeking to explore my own destiny which lies with the blending of two vastly different cultures, that of the horses with that of mankind. (Along the way, I'll be attending the NARHA/EFMHA conference in Denver next week.)

Nearly two years ago, I received an email from Kim who told me of her friend Dave's remarkable dream, where he heard and saw my name (and thought to write it down in his half awake state because of its strangeness) and knew that he was to give the name to Kim. Although Dave has no particular connection with horses, his friend Kim owns several, so that appeared to be the connection when they found my website through Google. A month later, Dave's radio malfunctioned in his car and he flipped the dial to something clearer, a talk show, which to his astonishment he realized within a few minutes was my interview taped a year before on New Dimensions Radio. Over the next few months we were charmed with the idea of at least getting acquainted. Facebook and email and Skype facilitated that. Then it seemed right that an Australian tour of Journey Horse was in order, and Cheryl and Michaela joined in the effort.  Equitana Melbourne agreed that they wanted to be on our agenda; Cheryl has invited other EFL professionals to join us one day for professional development, as well.

Last week Dave told me for the first time that in his dream, it was a horse giving him my name, and suddenly, the dreamtime spoke to my heart.

More than ever, I feel the call of the brumbies, the wild horses, bringing me to the Land of Oz. I suspect that the presentations and teaching may be secondary to the essential purpose of this journey. I will share more later with you, as I know more. . . but until then, my message to you is to trust the strange, the most inexplicable, when it calls to your heart.
