Apprehending Purpose (3).
"Not as though I had already attained,
either were already perfect: but I follow
after, if that I may apprehend that for
which also I am apprehended of Christ
Jesus." (Philippians 3:12 - KJV.).

Three main thoughts were highlighted by Paul
in Philippians 3:12; three thoughts which he
tried to deal with by the help of the Holy Ghost.
Having addressed the first thought
and concluding that he had by no means
attained (or arrived) at God's
ordained
destination, the great apostle moves a step
further to address the second thought:
In the same verse 12 of Philippians
chapter 3, Paul says:
"...either were made
perfect..."
In other words, while admitting that
I have not yet attained unto God's ultimate
end for my life, I also concede to the fact
that I am not yet perfect. I may look and
sound awesome to you all, but I am by no
means a perfect human being.
I am not exactly what God
intends me
to be yet, neither am I who He wants me to
be. I am not where He wants me to be yet,
neither do I have all He intends for
me to have.
You see, Paul was trying to be as
real and as down to earth as possible. Though
a 'big time' apostle, he had no shame in
admitting to himself and to all that he still
had some 'ifs' and 'buts', shortcomings, and
frailties in his life.
I daresay that there are too many
'plastic' Christians in the world we
live in
today; people who are not real. However, Paul
was very real and sincere.
Are you for real?
 ..to be continued.
