Witty Words.

"We are too busy to pray, and so we are too busy to have power. We have a great deal of activity, but we accomplish little; many services but few conversions; much machinery but few results."

(Reuben Archer) R. A. Torrey.

Blazing Words

IF MY PEOPLE ...
"Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God" (Colossians 4:12).

The Mystery Of Dreams (IV).
"For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction." (Job 33: 14-16).

Where do dreams come from? What are their sources? Generally, dreams can be from one of 3 sources:

1. Mental Dreams:

In this case, the source is man himself. People are known to often dream about what they are preoccupied with in their day-to-day activities.

"For a dream cometh through a multitude of business..." (Ecclesiastes 5:3).

These kinds of dreams are direct signals from the subconscious about what is really going on. This has nothing to do with God or the devil.

"It shall even be as when an hungry man dreameth, and behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and , behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite..." (Isaiah 29:6).

You most likely will dream about what occupies your mind throughout the day. Whatever fills your heart will be played back in your dreams. Mental dreams therefore, are a direct reflection of the state of your mind.

Job was sick, and dreamt of the trembling of his bones, and fear.

"Now a thing was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received a little thereof. In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falleth on men, Fear came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones to shake." (Job 4:12-14).

Holy Humor.
Laughing Jesus A preacher was completing a temperance sermon: with great expression he said, "If I had all the beer in the world, I'd take it and throw it into the river." With even greater emphasis he said, "And if I had all the wine in the world, I'd take it and throw it into the river."

And then finally, he said, "And if I had all the whiskey in the world, I'd take it and throw it into the river."

He sat down. The song leader then stood very cautiously and announced with a smile, "For our closing song, let us sing Hymn # 365: "Shall We Gather at the River."

Ministry Update:
The Ministers' Retreat of Liberty Evangelical Church tagged "A More Excellent Ministry" held last Saturday in Philadelphia. The program attracted ministers and laymen from different churches and States. People came from Dallas, Maryland, New Jersey and New York. There were even ministers from Nigeria and England in attendance. Hallelujah!

Dr. Brown took two very powerful and incisive teachings: "The more "Excellent Ministry" and "The Melchizedek Company."
