As His Own Soul.
"Then Jonathan and David made a
covenant, because he loved him as his own
soul." (I Samuel 18:3).

It is obvious that there are different kinds
of 'ships' in life; there is
fellowship, leadership, followership,
friendship, comradeship, mentorship,
partnership, e.t.c. One thing is however
common to all these 'ships',
they all have to do with relationship.
Life is made up of relationships, and
this is the Divine Design. In Saul's journey
towards kingship, his path of a necessity had
to cross those of three men whom God had
divinely positioned and programmed to
prophetically deposit certain things into his
life (I
Samuel 10:3-4)
Our ability to relate well with other
people
could to a large extent determine the rate,
and the ease with which we achieve our live's
assignments!
The truth is that no man is an island: You
see, you need
someone, and there's someone out there who
needs you too. If you ever think you can
achieve all things in this life all by
yourself, or that you have no need of
anybody, then, alas, a time will come when
nobody will need you!
Another truth is that there's
something in me
that you need, and there's something in you
that I also desperately need. You were
designed to be a blessing to someone, while
there's someone else who is designed to be a
blessing to you. You are divinely ordained to
be the solution to someone else's puzzles,
and there's someone else out there who is the
solution to your own life's puzzles.
"Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man
sharpeneth
the countenance of his friend."
(Proverbs 27:17).
No matter how heavenly minded we get, we
still have to relate with human beings here
on earth first! This is the pillar
and the
ground of relationships.
Hear this,
Relationships are necessary.
Relationships are delicate.
Relationships can be costly.
Relationships can make.
Relationships can break.
"...and there is a
friend that sticketh
closer than a brother. Thine own
friend, and
thy father's friend, forsake not;
neither go
into thy brother's house in the day of
calamity: for better is a neighbour that is
near than a brother far off."
(Proverbs
18:24b; 27:10).
 ...to be continued...
