The Exemplary Lifestyle (III).
"Let no man despise thy youth; but
be thou an example of the believers,
in word, in conversation, in charity, in
spirit, in faith, in purity." (I
Timothy 4:12).

Paul's COUNSEL #2: (Cont'd.)
"...be thou an example of the
believers..." (v.12).
(c) In charity:- As
apostle Paul continues in his charge to
Timothy, he urges him to live an exemplary
life with respect to charity (agape)
i.e. love, affection, goodwill, or
benevolence as demonstrated in the love of
God and man.
(d) In spirit:- When
Paul used the word 'spirit' (pneuma),
he meant the vital principle by which the
body is animated; the disposition or
influence which fills and governs the soul of
anyone; the efficient source of your
affections, emotions and desire.
'spirit', in the
context of Paul's counsel could also refer to
exercise of spiritual gifts, spiritual talk
and conversation; fervency of spirit or zeal
to the honor of God.
(e) In faith:- We must
be examples in our faith (pistis) i.e.
belief, fidelity, or assurance. God expects
that we must hold fast the exercise and
doctrine of faith with all confidence,
integrity and constancy.
(f) In purity:- The
elderly apostle instructed young Timothy to
be a model of purity (hagneia) i.e.
chastity of body and mind, as opposed to all
impurity of the flesh by fornication.
Young people (then and now) have more
temptations to break this rule!!!
Art thou an example?
 (...to be continued...)
