Witty Words.

"A Christian should be IN the world and yet not OF the world. How can this be? Consider the fish who, though he lives in the salty sea, does not taste salty."

Anon.

Blazing Words

"SOME ARE SENT, SOME JUST WENT!"

IF MY PEOPLE ...
"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints" (Ephesians 6:18).

The Unspoken Sermon.
A member of a certain church, who previously had been attending services regularly, stopped going.

After a few weeks, the pastor decided to visit him.

It was a chilly evening. The pastor found the man at home alone, sitting before a blazing fire.

Guessing the reason for his pastor's visit, the man welcomed him, and led him to a comfortable chair near the fireplace and waited.

The pastor made himself at home but said nothing. In the grave silence, he contemplated the dance of the flames around the burning logs. After some minutes, the pastor took the fire tongs, and carefully picked up a brightly burning ember and placed it to one side of the hearth all alone.

Then he sat back in his chair, still silent.

The host watched all this in quiet contemplation. As the separated ember's flame flickered and diminished, there was a momentary glow and then its fire was no more. Soon it was cold and dead.

Not a word had been spoken since the initial greeting. The pastor glanced at his watch and realized it was time to leave. He slowly stood up, picked up the cold, dead amber and placed it back in the middle of the fire.

Immediately it began to glow, once more with the light and warmth of the burning coals around it.

As the pastor reached the door to leave, his host said with a tear running down his cheek, "Thank you so much for your visit and especially for the fiery sermon. I shall be back in church next Sunday."

Sometimes, the best 'sermons' are the ones left unspoken!

"Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon the earth: therefore let thy words be few... and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words." (Ecclesiastes 5:2-3).

Holy Humor.
Laughing Jesus The United Way discovered that it had never received a donation from the city's most successful lawyer. So a United Way volunteer paid the lawyer a visit in his lavish office. The volunteer opened the meeting by saying,

"Our research shows that even though your annual income is over two million dollars, you don't give a penny to charity! Wouldn't you like to give something back to your community through the United Way?"

The lawyer thinks for a minute and says, "First, did your research also show you that my mother is dying after a long, painful illness and she has huge medical bills that are far beyond her ability to pay?"

Embarrassed, the United Way rep mumbles, "Uh... no, I didn't know that."

"Secondly," says the lawyer, "my brotherm a disabled veteran, is blind and confined to a wheelchair and is unable to support his wife and six children."

The stricken United Way rep begins to stammer an apology, but is cut off again.

"Thirdly, did your research also show you that my sister's husband died in a dreadful car accident, leaving her penniless with a mortgage and three children, one of whom is disabled and another has learning disabilities requiring an array of private tutors?"

The humiliated United Way rep, completely beaten, says, "I'm so sorry, I had no idea!"

And the lawyer says, "So... if I didn't give any money to them, what the heck makes you think I'd ever give any to you?!!!"

Ministry Update:
The first ever Shiloh Revival program of the CAC Vineyard of Comfort in Lithonia Georgia was a resounding success to the glory of God. The 5 day meeting was star studded with music and Word ministers from across the States.

Dr. Brown took 3 teachings: "Describe it", "O Earth", and "Beyond the 10th Generation." The brethren were so thoroughly blessed, and practically prayed their hearts out as the servant of God led the congregation in warfare prayers.

To God be the glory!
