Let there be Light! (II)
"In the beginning God created the
heaven and the earth. And the earth was
without form, and void; and darkness was upon
the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God
moved upon the face of the waters. And God
said, let there be light: and there was
light." (Genesis 1: 1-3).

"Darkness" may be illustrative of:
1. The way of sin: "And
have no fellowship with the unfruitful works
of darkness, but rather reprove them."
(Ephesians 5:11).
2. A state of afflictions:
"Unto the upright there ariseth light in
the darkness..." (Psalm 112:4).
3. Moral depravity: "The
night is far spent, the the day is at hand:
let us therefore cast off the works of
darkness, and let us put on the armor of
light." (Romans 13:12).
4. Ignorance: "...He
that saith he is in the light, and hateth his
brother, is in the darkness even until
now..." (I John 2:9).
Even in a state of pitch black
darkness and complete gloominess, the Spirit
of God is well able to move, (brood, hover or
flutter) over the face of the waters of
affliction in our lives! (Genesis 1:2)
Observe that although darkness
prevailed, and there was an urgent and
desperate need for divine illumination, God
never said a word until the Spirit had moved.
" The Spirit of God
moved...and God said..."
Beloved, this is the divine pattern
laid down in scriptures: We must never
attempt to bring forth the Word in our
worship services until the Spirit has had an
opportunity to "move," "brood," "hover,"
or "flutter" as we praise and worship
Him. Worship must always go before the Word!
Do you need God to speak a Word of
illumination into your "darkness?" then get
into worshiping Him.
Hallelujah!
