Power in the Spirit (IV).
"And when the day of Pentecost was
fully come, they were all with one accord in
one place. And suddenly there came a sound
from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and
it filled all the house where they were
sitting. And there appeared unto them
cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat
upon each of them. And they were all
filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to
speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave
them utterance." (Acts 2:1-4).

In our ongoing study, we have seen that
though the disciples of Jesus already had
some gifts and graces before the Spirit
baptism, they were still instructed to get
the baptism before going fully into the
spiritual battlefield.
There seems to be a difference
therefore between a filling and a
baptism, or the Spirit by measure,
and the Spirit without measure.
Baptism (from the word
'baptizzo' in the Greek) means to be
buried in, to be immersed in, to be submerged
in, or to be drenched. One who is 'baptized'
in the Holy Ghost therefore is not just
'filled' but completely immersed (or buried)
and drenched in the Spirit.
The extent to which one is filled
with the Spirit, he has that measure of power
and can do things according to the degree of
anointing he has. A filling is not always
accompanied by a baptism, but a baptism will
always be accompanied by a filling.
At Pentecost, the disciples were both
filled and baptized. Notice
that when the Holy Ghost arrived, it was the
room that was first filled, then the
disciples who were the human vessels, were
subsequently filled, being immersed or
completely submerged in the Spirit-filled
room. Hallelujah!
The believer will experience just one
baptism in the Holy Ghost, but like the
disciples, he can have many infillings Which
are you due for?
