"NOTHING LIES BEYOND THE REACH OF PRAYER, EXCEPT THAT WHICH LIES OUTSIDE THE WILL OF GOD."

IF MY PEOPLE ...
"Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence" (Matthew 19:13-15).

Power in the Spirit (III).
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon
me, because he hath anointed me to preach
the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to
heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance
to the captives, and recovering of sight to
the blind, to set at liberty them that are
bruised." (Luke 4:18).

Jesus declared that he had been anointed by the
coming of the Holy Spirit upon him.
To 'anoint'
basically, means to pour oil upon, or to smear
with oil
with the purpose of consecrating the person or thing
to God; or to set apart for an office (see Ex. 29:36 and
Lev. 8:12).
All through the scriptures, anointing was
either done
with Oil, Mixed spices, or the Holy Ghost:
"And Jacob rose up early in the
morning, and
took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it
up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of
it." (Gen. 28:18).
"Moreover the LORD spake unto
Moses, saying,Take thou also unto thee principal
spices, of pure myrrh five hundred
shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so
much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of
sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels,
And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the
shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive an hin: And
thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment, an ointment
compound after the art of the apothecary: it shall be an
holy anointing oil." (Ex. 30:22-25).
"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth
with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went
about doing good, and healing all that were
oppressed of the devil; for God was with him."
(Acts 10:38).
Whenever the Holy Ghost is the medium for
the anointing, He comes with power (i.e.
dumanis).
We have already noted that the kind
of Holy Ghost anointing Jesus received was
one "without measure." It was the actual
baptism of the Holy Ghost!
None of the Old Testament saints were
baptized in the Spirit. John the baptist was not
even baptized, but was filled with the
Spirit. Also, the disciples were filled with the
Spirit about 3 years before they were actually
baptized with the Spirit (see Mt. 10:1-8, 20;
and
Acts 2:1-4).
In the case of Jesus, he was already
filled with the Spirit for about 30 years before
He got baptized with the Spirit (Lk. 2:40-52; Mt.
3:16). The disciples themselves already had some
talents and some measure of power before the Spirit
baptism, yet they were instructed to get the full
baptism of the Holy Ghost before going into the battle
field!
Could there be a difference between a
filling, and a baptism?

Holy Humor.
While waiting in line at the bank, a co-worker
developed a very loud case of hiccups. By the time he
reached the teller's window, the hiccups seemed to
have worsened. The teller took my friend's check and
proceeded to run a computer verification of his
account. After a minute she looked up from her
terminal with a frown and said that she would be
unable to cash his check.
"Why not?" my friend asked incredulously.
"I'm sorry, sir," she replied, "but our computer
indicates that you do not have sufficient funds to cover
this amount. As a matter of fact," she continued, "our
records show your account overdrawn in excess of
$5000."
"It can't be!" he cried. "You have to be
kidding!"
"Yes, I am," she answered with a smile,
counting out his cash. "But you will notice that your
hiccups are gone."
