IF MY PEOPLE ...
"Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth" (John 11:41-43).

The Comfort of the Spirit (VII).
"And I will pray the Father, and he
shall give you another Comforter, that he may
abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of
truth; whom the world cannot receive, because
it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye
know him; for he dwelleth with you,
and shall be in you."
(John14:16-17).

The Lord Jesus always said what he meant and
he always meant exactly what he said!
Concerning the ministry of the Comforter,
which is the Holy Ghost, Jesus was very
specific in his choice of words; he told his
disciples that the Spirit would dwell
"with" them, and
"in" them.
The implication of the Spirit
dwelling "with"
you is that he acts as your guide, support,
standby and encourager. By his dwelling "in"
you, you receive strength from within, he
helps you manifest the fruit of the Spirit,
as well as inspires prayers in your heart.
Unfortunately, this is as much as
many believers know about the Holy Ghost! The
truth however is that in order to fully
maximize the Comforter's ministry, we need
the "upon" experience too. What
am I saying? ...The Holy Ghost can be "with"
us, "in" us, and "upon" us too.
It is the "upon" experience that will
make us really useful and relevant in God's
plans and purposes in these end times. When
the Holy Ghost comes "upon", He comes to
anoint and empower.
"And Jesus, when he was
baptized, went up straightway out of the
water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto
him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending
like a dove, and lighting upon
him" (Mt. 3:16).
"The Spirit of the Lord is
upon me, because he hath anointed me
to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath
sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach
deliverance to the captives, and recovering
of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them
that are bruised." (Lk. 4:18).
"And there appeared unto them
cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat
upon each of them." (Acts 2:3).

Holy Humor.
One Sunday a cowboy went to church.
When he entered, he saw that he and the
preacher were the only ones present.
The preacher asked the cowboy if he
wanted him to go ahead and preach.
The cowboy said, "I'm not too smart,
but if I went to feed my cattle and only one
showed up, I'd feed him."
So the minister began his sermon.
One hour passed, then two hours, then
two-and-a-half hours.
The preacher finally finished and
came down to ask the cowboy how he liked the
sermon.
The cowboy answered slowly,
"Well, I'm not very smart, but if I went
to feed my cattle and only one showed up, I
sure wouldn't feed him all the hay."
