The Comfort of the Spirit.
"And I will pray the Father, and He
shall give you another Comforter, so that
He
may be with you forever, the Spirit of Truth,
whom the world cannot receive because it does
not see Him nor know Him. But
you know Him,
for He dwells with you and shall be in
you. I
will not leave you orphans. I will come to
you. Yet a little while and the world does
not see Me any more. But you see Me. Because
I live, you shall live also." (John
14:16-19 MKJV.)

The God we serve is a Triune God in the sense
that there are three distinct and separate
personalities in the Godhead - The Father,
the Word (or Son), and the Holy Ghost. These
three are are co-equal, and act in perfect
unity of purpose and pursuits.
"For there are three that bear
witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and
the Holy Spirit, and these three are
one." (I John 5:7).
The Holy Spirit is the third person
of the Trinity, and has always been active,
and partaking in the divine acts even from
the time of creation (Gen. 1:2). The Spirit
of God is not a 'force' or an inanimate 'it'
like some people would have us believe;
rather, the Holy Spirit is a thinking,
reasoning, feeling, acting, talking person
with a personality of His own!
"Do not quench the
Spirit. And
do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God,
by whom
you are sealed until the day of redemption.
As they ministered to the Lord and fasted,
the Holy Spirit said, So, then, separate
Barnabas and Saul to Me for the work
to which
I have called them. And coming through the
Phrygian and the Galatian region; and by the
Holy Spirit being forbidden to speak the Word
in Asia." (I Thess. 5:19; Eph. 4:30;
Acts 13:2; 16:6).
In every single place Jesus spoke
about the
Holy Spirit, he referred to him with the
personal male pronoun "He" or "Him." Folks,
the Holy Spirit is a personality that can be
grieved or quenched; He can think and make
His own independent choices and decisions!

Holy Humor.
One bright, beautiful Sunday morning,
everyone in the tiny Midwest town got up early
and went to the local church.
Before the services started, the townspeople
were sitting in their pews.
Suddenly, Satan appeared at the front of the
church.
Everyone started screaming and running for
the entrance, trampling each other in
a frantic effort to get away from an evil
incarnate.
Soon everyone was evacuated from the
church, except for one elderly gentleman who
sat calmly in his pew, not
moving.....seemingly oblivious to the fact
that God's ultimate
enemy was in his presence.
Now this confused and irritated the
Devil a bit, so he walked up to the man and said,
"Don't you know who I am?"
"Yep, sure do," the elderly man said.
Satan asked, "Aren't you afraid of me?"
This time the man said, "Nope, sure
ain't!"
Satan, a little more perturbed at
this, asked, "Why aren't you afraid of me?"
The man calmly replied, "Been
married to your sister for 56 years."
