A bucket of bubbly for the beach...why not?

moet imperial nectarChampagnes and sparkling wines, particularly suited to summer dining, will quench your thirst while their effervescence cleanses the palate. With its crisp flavor, low alcohol content, acidity, and low sugar, a bit of bubbly can be versatile and if treated like a wine can be enjoyed through out a meal. Drink a glass as an aperitif, to complement your meal and to toast the chef at the end.

Enjoy this featured item, an ice bucket filled with 4 187ml bottles of Moet Nectar Imperial, along with 4 mini flutes...on sale for $34.98. Stop by before heading out to the beach or your next cookout!

Try Prosecco, a dry sparkling wine from Italy, full of lemony, citrusy flavor. Mix with fruit juices for a refreshing cocktail; a mimosa, kir royale, or a bellini. Try Canella Blood Orange Mimosa or Bellini for a pre-mixed cocktail, just grab and go.
Drink Seasonally...

Cape Cod Beer Summer Seasonal Seasonal choices abound for summers brews but why not stay local with Cape Cod Beer's Beach Blonde Ale. A traditional Bavarian style wheat beer that's wonderfully refreshing during the hot days of summer. It is unfiltered and characterized by its unique banana and clove flavors, which are produced by a special strain of yeast.

New Product
"Every beer has a story and some have quite a history" according to Dogfish Head Craft Brewery who has developed 'Theobroma', or "food of the gods," a brew based upon a recipe of ancient ale. Brewed with Aztec cocoa powder and cocoa nibs from Askinosie Chocolate, honey, ancho chilies, and annatto, the recipe is based on chemical analysis of pottery fragments found in Honduras, which scientists claim is the earliest known alcoholic chocolate drink. How's that for research?

Summer Whites
Cuban MojitoWhile the ever-popular mojito, undeniable refreshing, always uses the same five ingredients; white rum, simple syrup, lime juice, club soda, mint leaves, and a muddler; making one does not have to be labor-intensive according Wine Enthusiast magazine.

Offering simple tips for a standard Mojito and even a recipe for a Mojito infused with an Italian twist that uses Campari and Prosecco instead of rum,

Along with clear Rums, Tequila, Gin, and Vodka are often the preferred sprits of refreshing summer cocktails. Be sure to have plenty of ice on hand along with an assortment of mixers for summer, such as tonic water, club soda, soda and fruit juices.  As the fruit components of so many classic warmer weather cocktails are citrusy, stock up on lemons, limes and oranges, too.  A well-stocked bar will include liqueur's such as; Campari, St. Germain Elderflower, Pama (pomegranate liqueur) and Pimms No.1.

Opportunities for adding a creative twist abound with fresh and seasonal input from your local farmers markets. Use fresh produce in juices or syrups and enhance your creations with herbs and edible flowers that can bring wonderful scents to your concoctions. Share your drink ideas with us and we will publish them in our upcoming e-newsletter and on our website (with your permission of course)!
