It's Time to Sparkle
domaine chandon rose
Champagnes and sparkling wines are what the holidays are made of! Legend has it that in 1688 a Benedictine monk by the name of Dom Perignon stumbled upon the discovery of Champagne, when trapped carbon dioxide turned into bubbles during a second fermentation resulting in a 'sparkling wine'. He is quoted as saying "I am drinking stars"

The good news about  Champagne is that most are intended to be enjoyed upon their release. Pick up a December issue of  Simply Wine in the store and read more on Champagne vs. Sparkling Wine, what grapes are used, Vintage vs. non-vintage, 'how sweet is it', and 'fanciful' pairings, including recipes.
Holiday Cocktails

Homemade Gift Idea
cranberries Cranberries belong to Christmas, with their crimson color talior-made for the holiday decorating. Their flavor, fresh tart, sweet is worth celebrating.
Piled into bowls, cooked into delicious sauces, breads, desserts and strung with popcorn into garlands to trim the tree, cranberries have long been a part of local hoilday traditions. The greatest beauty of these berries is their jewel-like simplicity. A very simple 'homemade' hostess gift is your favorite Vodka, infused with cranberry. Decanted into glass bottles, it will make a festive hostess gift!

From the Pendergast family and all of our staff at the Cape Cod Package Store we wish you a Merry Christmas and a joyous New Year!
