Thank you to everyone who attended Spoiled Chics Gold Rush to benefit Animal Friends, held last month.
At a time when the economic climate and stresses of everyday living puts most of us at a higher than normal level of anxiety, we can always count on our pets to provide some much needed comfort and laughter.
"Pets enrich our lives with love. Pets make us healthy, by encouraging us to walk and play. Pets make us well, by making us smile and laugh. The love of a pet can make a person strong...at the same time, making us more gentle." --Animal Friends/Caryl Gates Gluck Resource Center,
Southwestern Pa's premiere companion animal resource center located on Camp Horn Road in Sewickley.
Guests brought "old and broken gold, silver and platinum jewelry, and turn(ed) it into CASH." says Darla Perz, buyer for Gold Home Party, Inc. One guest was ecstatic after receiving over "$400 cash from old boyfriend gifts".
Thank you to all our guests and participants. Because of you, we were able to donate over $400 to Animal Friends in support of their No-Kill Mission.
In addition to over 25 guests who were treated to wine, cheese and appetizers, the spotlight was clearly on "Hollywood", a very lovable and social German Shepherd mix. Thank you also to Kraig W. Makohus, Director of Development for Animal Friends, "Hollywood was recently rescued from a tiny Ross Twp. house packed with an overwhelming number of animals-in closets, crowded into the basement- living in their own feces," he said. Thank you also to Hollywood and his foster family, Shirley and Lou Hasson for attending our event, bringing such joy to all and sharing your friendship.
"We'd like this to be the first of many events sponsored by Spoiled Chics to benefit Animal Friends." says Carina Perrone, co-owner of Spoiled Chics. According to partner, Cora DeLoia, "plans are already underway.."
