2012-13 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) 

Due to extenuating technical issues, the processing of 2012-13 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be delayed. The Financial Aid Office is working diligently to resolve these issues. Please continue to check your DVC InSitePortal email and www.dvc.edu/financialaid for processing updates. 

Spring break
The Welcome Center needs volunteers
The Welcome Center is looking for volunteers to assist fellow students during the busy "back to school" rush in August. Volunteers will receive a DVC t-shirt, lanyard and a "thank you" goodie bag. Qualified student volunteers who work for at least 10 hours will also receive first consideration for paid Student Ambassador positions and other student assistant jobs in the Welcome Center and Enrollment Lab. Vice President of Student Services 

Dear DVC students,
DVC is currently in the process of hiring a Vice President of Student Services. After the top candidates are selected, President Peter Garcia and the hiring committee would like to give all campus stakeholders the opportunity to provide input before making the final decision.
The final candidates will each make a brief presentation and answer audience questions.

Forums will be held Thursday, July 19 beginning at 1 p.m.
BFL Community Conference Room

For those who cannot attend, the presentations will be video recorded and links to each candidate's presentation and Q and A will be available on your InSite Portal page the morning following the forum, July 20th at 8 a.m. There will also be a survey link for each candidate, where you can provide your feedback.The video and survey links will be available through Sunday evening, July 22 at 6 p.m.

DVC pre-apprenticeship program 

Are you interested in a career in the trades? DVC has a new pre-apprenticeship program that can help you prepare for the required exams for entrance into a variety of apprenticeship programs, research the many career opportunities in the trades, learn construction basics, and develop successful work-readiness skills. The pre-apprenticeship program is offered in the spring semester, but you can begin to prepare for success this fall. Campus Alert System
Your attention please... 

A loud siren will be heard throughout the DVC campuses the first Wednesday of every month at 11 a.m.  This will be a test of our Campus Alert System. There is nothing you need to do during a siren test. 


In the event of an actual emergency or crisis situation, the siren sound will continue for three minutes. Students and all campus personnel will be instructed to Shelter, Shut, and Listen.

These alerts will only be sent in the case of an actual emergency when the safety of our students and staff is at risk, or when we have to close campus for any reason.
