Important admission and registration dates
Now through December 1 - AA/AS degree or certificate filing periodNovember 11 - Holiday - Veterans Day - college closed. Saturday and Sunday classes are in session. November 18 - Last day to withdraw from full-term classes with a "W" appearing on transcript. |

Are you currently enrolled in a class that you have already attempted in a prior semester, but did not complete successfully?
Thinking of dropping or withdrawing from that class? California State regulations regarding the ability to repeat non-repeatable credit courses have changed, and it will affect your ability to repeat classes! Find out more: www.dvc.edu/CourseRepeats

Campus alert...
The City of Pleasant Hill will be putting a microsurfacing (slurry) seal on the streets in the College Park Subdivision on September 28, 29 and 30. Viking Drive from Contra Costa Boulevard to Ruth Drive will be done on Saturday, October 1, 2011. There will be street closures in affect in this neighborhood on these dates. The No Parking signs will be going up no later than Monday, September 26, 2011. Local residents will be notified of street closures by hand delivered flyers of the specific dates their streets will be closed, however a lot of DVC students park in this neighborhood and will also be affected.

New program certificates and degreesDVC has added program certificates and/or degrees in computer science, geology, math, psychology, sociology and speech. Check out the 2011-2012 catalog addendum online for details.

Scholarship programScholarships are available for DVC students who are new, continuing, or transferring to a four-year college or university fall 2012. One application and two letters of recommendation can qualify you for multiple scholarships. Thousands of dollars are available through the DVC Scholarship Program. The application period is October 1, 2011 through noon on February 2, 2012. Stop by the DVC Scholarship office for other opportunities.

Counseling and Career, Employment, and Transfer Services
A reminder that beginning October 1, students can file an application for transfer to the CSU system by going online to www.csumentor.org. The deadline to file for the CSU system is November 30. Applications for transfer to the UC system will be accepted beginning November 1 and no later than November 30. The application for the UC system can be found at www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/transfer.

First move to a safe location and then immediately contact Campus Police at: ext. 2333 from a campus phone, or 925-680-7000 from your cell phone. (Calling 911 from a cell phone will result in an unnecessary delay.)
