Now through March 31 - AA/AS degree or certificate filing period

March 2 - Begin accepting applications for admission to summer and fall 2011

April 18-24 - Spring recess - classes not in session - no Saturday or Sunday classes

April 29 - Last day to withdraw from full-term classes with a "W" appearing on transcript

Dental Hygiene Teaching Clinic DVC Dental Hygiene program
The DVC Dental Hygiene Teaching Clinic offers a wonderful opportunity for members of the public to receive dental hygiene services provided by dental hygiene students. Fees in the clinic range from $10 (cleaning for a child 12 and under) to $55 for a "deep cleaning" for an adult. Regular maintenance cleanings for adults are $25. Radiographs (x-rays) range from $10 for check-up films, to $25 for a full set.

The clinic is in the Life Sciences Building, LHS-102. Please call 925-685-1230 ext. 2534 to schedule an appointment for an Initial Evaluation to see if you might qualify to be a teaching case. Patients must have fillings/crowns/etc. in good repair, and be willing to sit for multiple appointments in the teaching clinic.

If you would like to represent the voice of Contra Costa Community College District students on our District Governing Board, then we need you! Click to access the application. Applications are due by March 9 at 5 p.m. to the Student Life Office.

ASDVC is sponsoring participation in the statewide March-in-March, which will be in Sacramento on Monday, March 14 from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. If you are interested in voicing your opinion about the proposed cuts and tuition increases at California community colleges, please go to www.asdvc.org/main/news.html. Consent and release forms will be required of all participants.
Culinary Services Culinary Arts department
Culinary services are now open on campus Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m.-1 p.m.  Pastry Shop; 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Express Bar and Norseman.

Upcoming event:  Spring Buffet Banquet, Thursday, Apr. 14,  11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Norseman Restaurant.  Tickets $30 per person are available from the Cashier's Office.  Limited seating.
DVC graduates Graduation 2011

Now through April 15, 2011 - Graduation Speaker application period. Students may apply, and faculty and staff may recommend. Applications available online or in the Vice President of Student Services Office.

May 27, 2011, 7 p.m. - Graduation ceremony in Viking Stadium at DVC, Pleasant Hill Campus (weather permitting). The commencement ceremony and celebration are open to students who earned a degree or certificate for summer or fall 2010, or spring 2011. Students who have applied for and who have met the requirements for a degree or certificate will be sent detailed information about graduation in early May. Please take a few moments to complete the Graduation Memories form. Thank you... and congratulations!

UC Berkeley's Multicultural Shadow Day
March 4, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

This event aims to bring together high school and community college students to the UC Berkeley campus and expose them to various aspects and pathways to higher education. Information packets available in the Transfer Center.

CSU campuses fall 2011 admission decisions have begun
Check your email regularly for your offer letter of admission and submit the Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) by the required due date. If you need help with university notifications, stop in the Transfer Center for assistance.

Private university application filing periods. Check out private universities at www.aiccu.edu. Stop by the Transfer Center if you need help.
Educational Talent Search Program Educational Talent Search Program
The Educational Talent Search Program at DVC seeks volunteer tutors and Teacher Assistants for spring and summer 2011.

Volunteer tutors and Teacher Assistants (TA) are needed to work with local middle and high school students. Students interested in being a volunteer tutor or TA should contact Jackie Castellano at [email protected].
