Parking permit grace period
The
grace period for the fall term will be August 13-19,
2010. Enforcement will begin on August 20, 2010. The grace period is
for student permits only. All other parking regulations are in effect.

Important admission and registration dates
August 13 - First day of fall semester
August 26 - Last day to add a full-term class; last day to drop a full-term class and be eligible for a refund of fees September 2-December 1 - AA/AS degree or certificate filing period September 4-6 - Labor Day holiday - college closed, no Saturday/Sunday classes September 10 - Last day to drop a full-term class without a "W" appearing on transcript, last day to request P?NP option for a full-term class |
Financial Aid
To ensure the processing of financial aid files, including
appeals, students will be required to complete and submit ALL necessary
documents to the Financial Aid Office no later than Monday, October 4, 2010 in order to
receive payments by the end of the fall 2010 term. Documents received after
this date will be process for retroactive payment, if eligible, in the spring

Scholarship program
Scholarships
are available for DVC students who are new, continuing, or transferring to a
four-year college or university fall 2011. One application can qualify
for multiple scholarships. Thousands of dollars are available through the
DVC Scholarship Program. The
application period is October 1, 2010 through noon on February 2, 2011. Stop by the DVC Scholarship Office for other scholarship opportunities. |
Student Ambassador applications now being accepted
Are
you interested in providing presentations and campus tours to prospective DVC
students? Student Ambassadors represent DVC on campus and in the
community to explain the benefits of attending DVC to middle school students,
high school students, and their families. They assist students with the
application and registration steps necessary to enroll at DVC. Applications
will be accepted on a rolling basis until September 13. For more

involved! The Associated Students of DVC (ASDVC) is DVC's student
government. Petitions to join will be available at the ASDVC Information
Sessions and are due Thursday, September 9 by 4:30 p.m. to the Student Life Office. For more information. Student clubs and organizations are formed each term. Attend a "How to Start a Club workshop" to start a new club or come to Club
Days Tuesday, August 31 and
Wednesday, September 1 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Quad to join

Transfer Center
University of
California has opened a new Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) website for fall
2011 admission. Students must apply online before September 30,
2010. If your TAG is for UC Davis or UC Santa Cruz, you must complete the
online application, and then schedule an appointment to meet with a DVC
counselor to approve and sign your TAG before the deadline. Apply before September 30, 2010 at: uctag.universityofcalifornia.edu All 23 CSU
campuses are open for spring 2011 admission and you can submit your
application at www.csumentor.edu as of August 1, 2010. However, because the California Governor
and Legislature have not yet adopted a state budget, CSU will not know how many
students it can admit at this time. We strongly encourage all
students interested in spring 2011 admission to apply online as soon as
possible. For help in the application process, stop in the
Transfer Center. |

Enroll now for CO-OP!
CO-OP is a course that supports your work/internships by
providing you with skill development and academic units!
Students who participate in CO-OP see a 44% increase in
earnings compared to those who don't take CO-OP after graduation.

Educational Talent Search Program
Volunteer tutors needed for fall 2010The Educational Talent Search Program at DVC seeks tutoring volunteers for low income local
middle and high school students. Tutors are needed in a variety of
subjects. All tutoring is held on the DVC campus on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 3:30-5:30 p.m. Interested students
